Russell Simmons: Hip Hop Mogul, “Mr. Def Jam”, or widely known as “The CEO of Hip Hop”.  Russell Simmons has turned Hip Hop into a worldwide entertainment industrial movement dating back to the mid 80′s.  Originally a party promoter, he helped co-found one of the most successful record label “Def Jam Recordings” with the renowned brain of the operation Rick Rubin. While Russell was the face of the label, Rick was the “muscle”, the “go getter” behind the movement itself.  These two individuals sought talent that we still listen to this very day.  Artist such as; Run DMC, LL Cool J, Beastie Boys, Jay-Z, DMX, and so on.  He also opened up other venues for creative abilities to be notarized such as; (Def Comedy Jam, Def Poetry, Phat Farm, Baby Phat) etc.  He even has his own credit line called, RUSHCARD! I mean the man is into everything, the height of success is INEVITABLE……..!

A few weeks ago, Mr. Simmons made a visit to the seniors of New Haven’s HILLHOUSE HIGH.  He was promoting his new book called, “Super Rich: A Guide to Having it All.”  His book focuses on the paths of SPIRITUALITY & ENLIGHTENMENT.  He reminisces on how it guided him to remain focus on the positive things in life in order for success to play out its part. His secret to success embraces that, “if you’re a good giver, you’ll be a great getter.”  All great things dreamed of within self for self, starts with giving to those less fortune or in other words “GOOD DEEDS”!  He also talks formally about WEALTH; it starts within self being able to appreciate the valuable things in life before focusing on the materialistic side of it.  The message is clearly advised for the strategy, “put GOD first and all things are possible.”

Peace & Love
